The Los Angeles Lakers have had to give up rookie Lonzo Ball, who is struggling with knee pain, for four games. A comeback in the near future is not in sight – now a trip away is on the agenda.
Ball had recently missed his fourth game in a row against the Knicks. His left knee’s a problem. Originally, it was assumed that the ball would not fail for long. However, he has not yet been able to train with the team again. It is therefore questionable whether he will return to the court during the five games of the Roadtrip.
Coach Luke Walton emphasized that Ball is making progress with the Coaching Staff, but Walton himself hadn’t been allowed to welcome Ball back into the team training yet,”We won’t be in any hurry with him either,” he said.
Ball currently has 10.2 points, 7.1 assists, 7.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in his rookie season. The Lakers ranked 11th in the Western Conference with a balance of 17-29. Without a ball, which had to miss several games due to a shoulder injury, the team stands at 2-8.
