Ski-Alpine: Rebensburg wins Kronplatz giant slalom

Viktoria Rebensburg has rejoined the team after a two-week absence from work with a victory in the Alpine Ski World Cup. The German Olympic champion of 2010 won the World Cup giant slalom on Tuesday at the Kronplatz just ahead of the Norwegian Ragnhild Mowinckel (+0.03 sec.). The Italian Federica Brignone (0.66) finished third, the best Austrian was Stephanie Brunner (2.79) from Tyrol in twelfth place.

Top favourite Mikaela Shiffrin from the USA was in the penultimate giant slalom before the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang (9th place). till 25. February) were eliminated in the first round. In the overall World Cup, however, the leading defending champion still has a comfortable lead of 843 points over Rebensburg, who finished in 16th place. World Cup victory of her career (14. in the giant slalom) to second place.
