Basketball: EuroCup: FC Bayern consolidates lead in the standings

Bayern Munich has consolidated its lead in the EuroCup and has taken a further step towards the quarter-finals. On the fourth matchday of the top 16 round, the Bundesliga leader won in Russia at Zenit St. Petersburg 80:78 (38:37). Bavaria leads with a 3:1 record ahead of Zenit and Fiat Turin from Italy (both 2:2). Two teams from each group make progress.

One week after the home win against St. Stephen. Petersburg (95:78) the duel remained close until the end. The hosts awarded the final siren the possible winning throw. Reggie Redding was the best marksman of Bavaria with 18 points.

However, there was a downer in the victory: Bayern professional Milan Macvan was so badly injured that he had to be carried away on a stretcher.
