For the fourth time this season, Kevin Durant was ejected in the game against New York Knicks. Subsequently, the final MVP leaked again against the referees.
Referee James Williams was angry with Durant after a dispute in the first half of the match, as he speculated:”I did a crossover from right to left. He said I shovelled. I asked him how he figured out what he said I froze the defender. I told him it’s what a crossover is for. and I told him he was wrong. He’s probably gone into the break with a certain attitude.”
In the second half, it seemed as if he was targeting me,”KD explained,” Look at my first tech. I got a rebound and then dribbled the ball hard, but I got a technical. He wanted to take revenge on me because his feelings were hurt after the first half.”
That is already the problem throughout the whole season:”That’s exactly what is happening everywhere this year. I need to get a better grip on myself. But I was angry. I’m human too. I get upset,”said Durant, who collected his second technical when he complained to Williams after a no-call.
Durant also said that he believes Williams could have a grudge against him from now on, but that he doesn’t want to talk about the issue any further:”This is a bad season for us and the Refs in terms of relations. But we’ll work it out.”
Since there have been repeated tensions between referees and referees over and over again, there are reports that there will be a meeting around the All-Star Game at which both sides want to find a solution.
