Biathlon: IBU: Organisation of the competitions in Russia still open

The biathlon competitions planned for Russia in March will continue to be open, and “In the light of new information,” the World Association IBU announced, that it is still discussing how to deal with the planned events. A final decision will be taken during the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang/South Korea (9. till 25. February 2018).

The central question is whether or not the Russian Biathlon Union will be allowed to organise the competitions. The Russian National Olympic Committee had been banned from the Winter Games in the wake of the doping scandal.

In Tyumen, it is supposed to be from 20. till 25. The biathletes’ World Cup finale will take place in March, parallel to this, the IBU Cup season’s end of the season will be held in the West Siberian city. Directly before that, the competition in Uvat (9. till 11. March) and Khanty-Mansiysk (13. till 17. March) Station.
