Dave Gettleman, the new Managing Director of New York Giants, commented on the quarterback question and the impending draft of the franchise. He could well imagine Eli Manning’s whereabouts. A quarterback is therefore not necessarily drafted.
“I watched Manning’s tape because the quarterback is the team’s most important position,” said Gettleman, referring to Eli’s 434-yard performance against the Eagles at the end of the season. That was no illusion,”says the new managing director on the Giants homepage.
Many expect the Giants to pick up a quarterback with the second pick in the upcoming draft to take Manning’s throne. Gettleman doesn’t make such a prediction:”We’ll pick the best available player with the second pick,”Gettleman continues.”If you forcefully choose a player just to get a quarterback and it doesn’t live up to expectations, you’ll lose five years”.
Also about Odell Beckham Jr. Gettleman lost a few words. The superstar Wideout will be playing in his rookie contract last year next season,”I had a great conversation with him,”says Gettleman.”We have a great player and I look forward to working with him.”
