Alpine Skiing: Kriechmayr races on the pole in Garmisch

Vincent Kriechmayr is allowed to celebrate his first podium position in a World Cup downhill run in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The ÖSV runner only has to admit defeat to Beat Feuz.

The Swiss rider finds the fastest route on the extremely demanding Kandahar descent and wins by 18 hundredths of a second. Ex aequo with Kriechmayr, Dominik Paris lands on the split second place.

Behind Aksel-Lund Svindal Hannes Reichelt occupies fifth place, followed by Peter Fill, Kitzbühel winner Thomas Dreßen and Matthias Mayer.
