Marcel Hirscher has impressively demonstrated his exceptional position in the alpine ski circus also in the last World Cup giant slalom before the Olympic Games. The Austrian won his tenth victory of the season in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the 55th overall. in the World Cup.
He left his great compatriot Hermann Maier behind him in the best list and is now the only runner-up behind Ingemar Stenmark (Sweden/86 victories).
Best German at the dress rehearsal for the Olympic Giant Slalom on 18. February in Yongpyong was Fritz Dopfer (Garmisch), who was named 15. his best result in this discipline in almost two years.
