NBA: Rupture of the patellar tendon?

The Oklahoma City Thunder paid dearly for their victory against the Detroit pistons: Shooting Guard Andre Roberson was badly injured and is unlikely to return this season.

ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski, among others, reports that the Starting Shooting Guard of the Thunder has contracted a tear in the patella tendon. This would result in an operation which would mean the end of the season for the 26-year-old.

Roberson sustained the injury against the pistons in the third quarter, when Russell Westbrook tried to play him with an alley-oop pass. Roberson fell unhappily to the ground and was later driven off the field on a stretcher.

“This is a big loss for us,”said Thunder coach Billy Donovan after the game,”Everyone can see what a positive impact he has on our game, especially in defense,” and this season Roberson has been a 38-times starter, scoring 5.0 points and 4.7 rebounds.
