Ski Alpin: Marcel Hirscher leads the RTL of Garmisch

Marcel Hirscher is clearly in the lead at RTL in Garmisch Partenkirchen after the first round. The Salzburg rider finishes the demanding course in 1:18:64 minutes, Ted Ligety (USA) is already 63 hundredths behind in second place.

Alexis Pinturault (FRA) is already 94 hundredths of a second behind in third place, Manuel Feller (+0.98 seconds) gets a good starting position for a podium finish with fourth place. Henrik Kristofferson (NOR/ +1.35 sec.) is ninth, Stefan Brennsteiner retires.

Hirscher can celebrate his 10th birthday in Garmisch. Season’s victory, which would be a personal record. He would also leave Hermann Maier (54 victories) behind him with World Cup victory number 55.
