NHL: Jagr returns to Czech homeland

Jaromir Jagr leaves the NHL and returns to Czech Premier League club HC Kladno. This was announced on Monday by the Calgary Flames, for which Jagr had played since October 2017.

The 1998 Olympic champion was already active in his home town of Kladno from 1988 to 1990 and 2012.

“I’m sorry that it didn’t work out the way both sides had imagined it to work in Calgary,”said Jagr:”Now I’m looking forward to continuing the season in Kladno”.

Jagr, who finished second behind superstar Wayne Gretzky in the NHL, has been on top of the scoring charts since 31st January. I never played another game in December.

For Calgary, he scored only one goal in 22 games this season. Jagr are only 34 games short of the record set by legendary Gordie Howe with 1767 NHL games.
