NBA: Wizards shock: Wall is missing up to two months

The Washington Wizards have to do without All-Star John Wall for up to eight weeks. He has to undergo knee surgery.

This was confirmed by the franchise on Tuesday. Wall has to undergo a procedure on his left knee. That was the result of the MRI examinations on Monday. The procedure is performed by a surgeon who has already operated twice on the problem knee.

Wall was recently voted into the All-Star Game by the league’s head coaches. He should have played there for Team LeBron. Now, Commissioner Adam Silver will appoint a successor.

With 27 victories and 22 defeats, the Wizards are in 6th place at the Eastern Conference. The lead to non-playoff 9th place, where the Detroit pistons currently rank, is 4.5 games. Wall, who has already missed twelve games in the current season, has an average of 19.4 points and 9.3 assists.
