Shock for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kevin Love had to leave the court early to defeat the Detroit Pistons. The team announced a short time later that the Power Forward has contracted a fracture of the left hand. Love could be missing for up to two months.
Love injured himself in the first quarter against the pistons and was immediately examined. This resulted in a fracture in the fifth metacarpal bone. Officially, the Cavs have not yet announced how long Love will be missing. An update could follow in the course of the day if Love is investigated in more detail.
Love sustained the injury in the first quarter when he collided with Pistons Center Andre Drummond. He left the field in pain after only five minutes.
The left hand had already caused Love problems in the past. The Power Forward had to be operated on in 2009 and was fitted with three screws in his left hand. Last year, Love also had to pause in February when he had to undergo a small knee surgery.
Even then he missed the All-Star Game. This will be the case this year as well. It is not yet known who will be moving up for the Cavs’ big.
