Golf: Kieffer in Malaysia in seventh place at halftime

Golf pro Maximilian Kieffer has his sights set on his first top ten finish on the European Tour since August 2016. The 27-year-old from Düsseldorf is ranked seventh in Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia after the second round. With 135 strokes (69+66), Kieffer is only two strokes behind the leading duo Phachara Khongwatmai (Thailand) and Nino Bertasio (Italy/ 133 each).

On the first day, Kieffer had a perfect start into the event, which was endowed with three million dollars, with an Eagle on the first hole. 24 hours later, he fought his way up the ranking even further. Marcel Siem also survived the cut, and Ratinger is now in 63rd place with 140 strokes (69+71). Rank.

Kieffer’s last top-ten finish on the European tour dates from August 2016, when he advanced to the quarter-finals at Paul Lawrie Matchplay in Scotland and was ranked fifth.
