Alpine Skiing: Vonn celebrates his 80th birthday.

Lindsey Vonn wins the sprint downhill from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and celebrates her 80th birthday. World Cup victory. With Cornelia Hütter, an ÖSV runner lands on the podium.

The US-American rider finds the fastest route on a shortened course and finally wins by only two hundredths of a second ahead of the Italian Sofia Goggia. Hütter completes the podium another eleven hundredths of a second back.

Anna Veith, who finishes fifth behind the fastest Breezy Johnson, will also be an exclamation point. With Nicole Schmidhofer (9th) another ÖSV athlete is among the top 10. Ramona Siebenhofer turns 13th, Christine Scheyer 18th.
