NBA: 43 points!

Anhtony Davis is the outstanding man in the Pelicans’ victory against the Thunders with 43 points and 10 rebounds. Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the Bucks per Game winner to victory in the successful comeback of Jabari Parker. The Raptors celebrate a blowout victory, as does Jazz. The Warriors, Lakers and Hornets also win.

What a start for the Hornets! In the first 12 minutes, head coach Steve Clifford’s team managed virtually everything, with the result being a franchise record for points scored in a quarter (49) and throwing odds of 19 out of 23 from the field and 7 out of 11 from the three-line. So far this season, no team has brought more points to the scoreboard in one quarter than the Horntes – and yet they were only 12 points ahead.

So the signs were on Shootout and so it went on. After a strong performance by Victor Oladipo (35 points) the Pacers won the third round with 34:25, the game was open again. Until the final phase, no team was able to break away and 40 seconds before the end, Cory Joseph scored 4 points for Indiana.

But it was no longer enough. Charlotte left the free-throwing line untouched and brought home the second victory in a row, with the Backcourt duo consisting of Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum standing out most of all. The latter started the game with 16 points in the first quarter and reached a total of 31 points (7/11 threesomes) and 9 rebounds. Walker was even better with 41 points and 9 assists.

In addition, Dwight Howard contributed a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) to the success and Frank Kaminsky scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Beside Oladipo on the other side Myles Turner convinced with 19 points and 11 boards, Bojan Bogdanovic scored 18 points. After three victories in series, the Pacers were defeated for the first time.

That used to be a great night for Brook Lopez. At first, it all started with a tribute video of the Nets showing the best scenes of the center from nine years in the Nets’ jersey. He then led the Lakers – known as his new team since the summer of 2017 – to their first victory after two consecutive defeats.

“Brook was great tonight,”said Lakers coach Luke Walton after the match,”he did a great job. Lopez scored 19 points (8/13 FG), 3 rebounds and 3 blocks in 28 minutes. His performance in the last two minutes of the match was decisive.

First he blocked the throw of Jarrett Allen to the possible equalization, only a few seconds later on the other side to sink the splitting for a 4-point lead for the Lakers in the basket. This action was decisive for the game. Spencer Dinwiddie (23 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds) was shortened again by Layup and Julius Randle only hit one of his two free throws, but Joe Harris’ last attempt at a threesome was unsuccessful.

Randle was next to Lopez the best scorer of his team (19 points, 12 rebounds, 5 turnovers), Brandon Ingram also scored 16 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds on a triple double. In the Nets, Allen still contributed a maximum of 20 points for the season. D’ Angelo Russell, who moved to Brooklyn in the summer as part of the Lopez trade, scored 15 points and 3 assists.

Already in the first quarter the Raptors made it clear in which direction this game will go. Headed by DeMar DeRozan, Toronto – one of the Association’s strongest home teams – set the tone from the outset. The Shooting Guard scored 16 points in the first 12 minutes, Jonas Valanciunas scored 11 points in the same period and the Canadians won the first round with 37:18.

This was almost the end of the game, especially as the Raptors’ offensive fireworks could hardly be contained by the guests at any time. Toronto sunk 47.5 percent of downtown, with 19 successful triads representing the best figure for the season. Especially DeRozan was in good shape. The 28-year-old scored a total of 35 points and beat the Trail Blazers 6 threesomes (Career-High) around the ears.

Furthermore, Portland did not find any remedy against Valanciunas (18 points, 8 rebounds), Fred VanVleet (15 and 5) or Kyle Lowry (15 and 5 assists). Jakob Pöltl also made a good appearance with 4 points (2/2 FG) as well as 5 rebounds and a strong plus/minus value of +15. After the Raptors had poured 74 points into their guests’ first half with 22 points in front, the game was over.

Damian Lillard’s performance was pushed into the background by the clear clap. The Point Guard scored 32 points (11/18 FG) and 10 assists, breaking the 10,000 point hurdle. This was the fastest milestone in the history of the Blazers’ franchise. Nevertheless, it was not enough to continue the winning streak of the previous four games. Though CJ came in, McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic still on 21 and 20 points respectively, but otherwise there was simply no support to start a successful comeback.
