Golf: Kieffer barely missed in Kuala Lumpur Top Ten

Golf pro Maximilian Kieffer has achieved his best position on the European Tour in Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia since August 2016. The 27-year-old from Düsseldorf played 68 at the end of the event, which was endowed with three million dollars, and only narrowly missed the top ten with a total of 274 strokes as a split eleventh. At the half way point, Kieffer had even finished seventh.

The Indian Shubhankar Sharma climbed 18 places on the final day with an impeccable 62cc lap and won with a total of 267 strokes. Marcel Siem from Ratingen had failed the cut.

Kieffer’s last top-ten finish on the European tour dates from August 2016, when he advanced to the quarter-finals at Paul Lawrie Matchplay in Scotland and was ranked fifth.
