Olympia 2018: Dahlmeier and Rebensburg take off for Olympia

Part of the 154-strong German Olympic team for Pyeongchang was officially dismissed on Monday at Munich Airport. Passengers on the scheduled flight LH718 included biathlete Laura Dahlmeier and ski racer Viktoria Rebensburg.

“I am happy that it is finally starting and that the time of waiting is over,”said Dahlmeier, who has her second Olympic Games ahead of her.

A total of 13 athletes and their coaches were on board the Airbus A350 “Stuttgart”, which took off under the command of flight captain Cordula Pflaum at 4.30 pm local time in Munich. The flight of the 40-strong delegation with Dahlmeier and Rebensburg is expected on Tuesday at 10:45 a. m. local time at Incheon airport near Seoul.

By Monday, 61 of 154 German athletes had already arrived in Pyeongchang. The games will open on Friday.
