NFL: Super Bowl with worst TV ratings since 2009

The Super Bowl with the surprising victory of the Philadelphia Eagles was at least comparatively a odds flop.

“Only” 103.4 million viewers watched the Eagles’ 41:33 win against the New England Patriots on Sunday on average on NBC Television.

Fewer fans last took part in the 2009 Super Bowl between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals (98.7 million).

Over the past four years, more than 110 million spectators have joined the spectacle, the record (114.4 million) being set in 2015 when New England beat the Seattle Seehawks.
