Basketball: EuroCup: Bayern Munich finishes top 16 with victory

Bayern Munich finished the top 16 in the EuroCup with their fifth victory in the sixth game.

Bayern, who had qualified early for the quarter-finals, prevailed at Lietuvos Rytas with 87:85 (43:38). In front of 5515 spectators Jared Cunningham with 25 points was the best thrower of the Bundesliga top rider in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.

The Munich team had already been chosen as the winner of Group F before the match. In the round of the last eight, coach Sasa Djordjevic’s team will be confronted with Unic’s Kazan from Russia.

The 2011 EuroCup winner finished second in Group H. The quarter-finals will take place between the 6. and 14. March and will be played in best-of-three mode.
