NBA: LeBron:”Would never delete my no-trade clause.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers again went bankrupt against Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. Subsequently, LeBron James was asked whether he would cancel his no-trade clause if a suitable deal could be found before the trade deadline on Thursday. The superstar has denied this.

“I’m here for the long term,”said James,”I’m here for this season and I’ll be looking for ways to be successful anyway. I couldn’t just give up my teammates like that. I just couldn’t do that. Every day we sacrifice too much for this game. We’re getting ready. Whether we lose or win, at the end of the day we’re all brothers, and we understand that.”

Although there have been rumours for some time that James will leave the Cavaliers after this season, he made it clear:”I owe it to my team mates to finish the season here, no matter what. I would never delete my no-trade clause.”

James is one of only three active NBA players who have a no-trade clause in their contract, so they can block any deal; the other two are Carmelo Anthony and Dirk Nowitzki. Anthony, however, agreed to a trade from the Knicks to the Thunder in autumn.

The Cavaliers are currently on a 30-22 record after their defeat against Orlando. Against the Magic, a 21-point lead was lost after the Cavaliers only scored 9 points in the last quarter,”said a Cavs player anonymously to ESPN,”This was a new low for us.
