Olympia 2018: Heidemann wears Olympic torch

Great honour for Britta Heidemann: The Olympic Olympic champion in fencing is wearing the Olympic torch on Thursday. IOC member Heidemann will hold the torch in her hands between 6.03 pm and 6.06 pm on the way of the fire to the opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium in Pyeongchang on Friday.

Heidemann had officially ended her career 656 days after her last competition last week.

The fire was on 24. October 2017 in the ancient Olympia. After handing it over to the South Korean organisers, the torch was handed over to the South Korean organisers. November carried by South Korea. The total distance covered by the 7500 runners is 2018 kilometres.
