Olympia 2018: Pope:”Korean team is hope for world peace”.

Pope Francis has described the Korean team as “hope for world peace”. During his general audience on Wednesday, Franziskus stressed that the Olympic truce has a special significance this year.

“The delegations from North and South Korea will be defiling under a single flag and will form a single team. This gives hope for a world in which conflicts are resolved peacefully, through dialogue and mutual respect, as sport teaches,”said the Holy Father.

He greeted the International Olympic Committee and the athletes who participated in the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang (9. till 25. February).

The Pope affirmed the Vatican’s firm will to promote any initiative for peace and the meeting of peoples:”May these Olympic Games be a great celebration of friendship and sport,”said the Pope.
