Handball: Flensburg after eye surgery without Heinl

Former international Jacob Heinl will miss handball runner-up SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the coming weeks.

The circle runner has to pause at the right eye after an operation and “will be able to get back into the team training in 14 days”. This was announced by the SG on Friday. The procedure had become necessary because the retina had detached again after 2011.

“Of course, we wish Jacob Heinl a speedy recovery. I am pleased that the operation went so well and that we will soon be able to use his qualities on the field again,”said Flensburgs Managing Director Dierk Schmäschke. For Heinl it is the SG’s last season after 24 years.
