Handball: Handball: Lemgos Lemke suffers cruciate ligament rupture

The TBV Lemgo will have to compensate for the loss of junior professional Jari Lemke in the next nine months.

During training, the backroom player suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament and a bone squeeze and will be operated on shortly. This was announced by the TBV on Friday after an MRI examination. Jari Lemke is the brother of 2016 European champion Finn Lemke.

“Jari’s loss is of course doubly bitter for us, not only because he is missing us with his throwing power and his body height of 2.03 m in the attack, but especially because our defence now has to get along without him as an inner blocker,”said TBV coach Florian Kehrmann:”Jari has made good progress in the winter preparation and should get more players in the second half of the season. This plan is now a waste of paper.”
