Olympia 2018: Political signal: Kim Jong and his sister arrived in South Korea

The sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived in South Korea shortly before the opening of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics for her politically symbolic visit.

Kim Yo Jong, Director of the Ministry of Propaganda and member of the Central Committee, landed at Incheon airport near Seoul on Friday with a delegation from the North.

Kim is the first member of the ruling family to enter South Korea since the end of the Korean War in 1953. During her three-day visit, she will meet South Korean President Moon Jae In and attend the opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium. Kim Yong Nam, the official head of state of North Korea, was also on board.
