Olympia 2018: Gleirscher takes the lead in the tobogganing competition

David Gleirscher took the lead after the first of the four runs of the Olympic sledding competition on the artificial track in Pyeongchang/Alpensia. The 23-year-old Olympic debutant from Tyrol set the course record in 47.652 seconds and was 22 thousandths of a second ahead of two-time Olympic champion Felix Loch from Germany and 0.112 seconds ahead of his compatriot Johannes Ludwig.

World champion Wolfgang Kindl did not get an optimal run and was eleventh for the time being with 0.303 seconds behind. Reinhard Egger is not among the top 15. The second run will follow on Saturday (LIVE in the SPOX ticker), the decision will be made in runs three and four on Sunday (10.50 a. m.).
