Olympia 2018: Hörmann delighted with two gold medals:”Custom-made prelude”.

Gold for biathlete Laura Dahlmeier and ski jumper Andreas Wellinger – DOSB President Alfons Hörmann was delighted with a “Tailor-made kick-off for our Team Germany”at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang on Saturday.

Most recently, a German team won two gold medals on the first day of the 2006 Winter Games in Turin: Combine Georg Hettich and biathlete Michael Greis.

“The culmination was that we were able to enjoy this historic day together with our President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife and experience pure emotion,” said Hörmann:”This start will give motivation and tailwind to our team in Germany.

Germany leads the medals after five out of 102 decisions, followed by the Netherlands (1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze) and the third place teams from Sweden and South Korea (1 gold each).
