Olympia 2018: Norwegian Björgen with the most medals

The Norwegian Marit Björgen has also been the most successful winter Olympic athlete in terms of medals since Saturday. The 37-year-old cross-country skier from Trondheim won her eleventh medal at the Olympic Games twice in the skiathlon over 7.5 km in second place behind the Swedish Charlotte Kalla.

Since her first participation in Salt Lake City in 2002, Björgen has now won six gold, four silver and one bronze medals. The 18-time world champion at the Olympics never went out empty-handed. With ten medals, the Russian cross-country skier Raissa Smetanina is now second in this ranking.

In the “eternal” best list of winter games Marit Björgen is third behind her compatriots Ole Einar Björndalen (Biathlon/8-4-1) and Björn Dählie (skiing 8-4-0). Both could still overtake Björgen in South Korea.
