NBA: Media: Philadelphia 76ers snatch up Marco Belinelli

According to media reports, the Philadelphia 76ers have struck the buyout market and engaged Marco Belinelli. The Italian recently reached an agreement with the Atlanta Hawks on a buyout and becomes a Free Agent.

This is reported by Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN). According to this, the Sixers were one of several possible playoff teams interested in the sniper. With his shooting, the Italian should help the Sixers to move back into the postseason for the first time in five years.

Belinelli is currently on the Waiverlist and will officially become a Free Agent on Monday. After the Hawks had not found any trade for Belinelli at the deadline, the parties agreed on a buyout of Belinelli’s expiring 6.3 million contract.

Belinelli scored 11.4 points per game this season, hitting about 39 percent of his trio. With its danger from the outside, the euro is primarily intended to make room for the stars of the Sixers, Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.
