NBA: Raptors beat Hornets – Playoff fight in Portland

At the start of the match day, the Toronto Raptors waddled Charlotte Hornets. During the night there is a playoff fight in Portland, while the Thunder have a seemingly easy task in front of their chest.

In the shadows of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ trades, the Toronto Raptors have turned out to be the best team in the East and confirmed this in the game against Charlotte Hornets. Due to the clear defeat, however, Michael Jordan’s team remains nowhere in the league.

At the beginning of the game, however, things looked quite different: The Hornets – led by Kemba Walker (23 points, 9 assists) – started the game with a 10:0 run. The Raptors did, however, beat back and took the lead in the first quarter.

Once again, the Canadian Bank of Canada, which had already collected 22 points for the break tea (a total of 55) was outstanding.

The Raptors were once again borne by their superstar DeMar DeRozan (25 points, 8 assists), who received strong support from Jonas Valanciunas (21.9 boards, 2/2 threesomes). Together with Kyle Lowry (12.7 Assists) they ensured that the Hornets did not have a commission in the second half. The strong bank was founded by C. J. Miles (24) is listed. Jakob Pöltl, who stood on the field for 18 minutes, got a used day (4 points, 3 boards, 2/6 FG).

However, the Raptors’ crosshairs were set: from downtown they hit 46.8 percent (18/37 3P). A double double from Dwight Howard (17,13) didn’t change the fact that the drop had already been sucked in the middle of the third quarter.

The Raptors celebrated their fifth consecutive victory, making Dwane Casey the first Raptors coach to clinch at least 300 victories, with Miami Heat coming to Canada the day after tomorrow. The Hornets are currently experiencing the exact opposite, with their fourth Nederlage in series. Before the All-Star-Break, Walker and Co. against the Orlando Magic.
