NFL: Media: Indianapolis Colts grab Eagles coach

Offensive Coordinator Frank Reich of the Philadelphia Eagles will probably be the new head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. A meeting with Colts-GM Chris Ballard is said to have convinced the Super Bowl Champion.

This is reported by NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo. Reich was considered the favourite of the vacant posts after the withdrawal of Josh McDaniels, offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots. The Colts are said to have also had talks with Dan Campbell of the New Orleans Saints and Leslie Frazier of the Buffalo Bills.

The performance of Eagles quarterback Nick Foles in the post-season, for which Reich is jointly responsible, was ultimately decisive.

It wouldn’t be Reich’s first term in Indy. Already between 2006 and 2011, the 56 year old worked in various roles for the Colts.
