The organisers of the Winter Olympics made an embarrassing mistake. On the official results page, the three Russian skiers were depicted in freestyle with the national flags of their country.

However, Russia is suspended for the games because of the doping scandal in Sochi in 2014, its athletes are only allowed to compete under the Olympic flag as “Olympic athletes from Russia”. The error was corrected immediately.

The International Olympic Committee had informed the National Olympic Committee of Russia on 5 October 2005. At the Olympic Games, the Russian team suspended on 12 December and is now making sure that the Russian athletes do not appear in the Olympic facilities with emblems or national flags.
