Olympia 2018: ski jumper Althaus wins silver in Sundby triumph

Ski jumper Katharina Althaus won the silver medal at the winter games in Pyeongchang in the triumph of the Norwegian Maren Sundby.

Four years after the Olympic premiere victory of Carina Vogt in Sochi, the 23-year-old from Oberstdorf had to admit defeat with 252.6 points only to top World Cup rider Sundby, who scored 264.6 points. Japan’s Sara Takanashi (243.8), who had become ungrateful fourth four years ago, won the bronze medal.

Carina Vogt from Degenfeld finished fifth, Ramona Straub and Juliane Seyfarth finished eighth and tenth.
