Olympic Games 2018: Another gold medal for the Netherlands: Wüst wins over 1500 m

Speed skater Ireen Wüst won her fifth gold medal at the Winter Games in Pyeongchang and thus became the most successful Dutch woman in Olympic history.

The 31-year-old won the 1500 m in the Gangneung Oval in 1:54.35 minutes ahead of the Japanese Miho Takagi and her compatriot Marrit Leenstra and won the third gold medal for Oranje in the third race.

Gabriele Hirschbichler and Roxanne Dufter, the European Championship third in the team pursuit, finished 12th and 24th.

Before the desert their fellow countrymen Carlijn had won aftect over 3000 m and Sven Kramer over 5000 m gold. Wüst won silver over the 3000 m.
