MLB: Former pitcher Esteban Loaiza arrested after drug discovery

Former all-star pitcher Esteban Loaiza has been arrested after finding a huge amount of drugs in his rented house in California.

Loaiza, where MLB played for eight different teams from the 1995-2008 season, discovered 20 kilograms of white powder – probably cocaine with a market value of $500,000. This was announced by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

The Mexican Loaiza had been stopped for a traffic offence. While searching the car, the officers found a secret compartment for contraband. Then the discovery was made in the house. The two-time all-star Loaiza is accused of owning, transporting and selling drugs. He’s due to appear in court on Wednesday.

In his 14 years at the MLB, the Mexican came to a balance of 126-114 with a 4.65 ERA over 2099 innings. In addition, he achieved 1382 strikeouts on 604 walks.
