Olympia 2018: Death threats: Short-tracker Boutin closes social media accounts

Canadian short-tracker Kim Boutin caught the South Korean rage at the winter games in Pyeongchang and closed her social media accounts after death threats.

Boutin won the bronze medal in the sprint competition on Tuesday, but benefited from the disqualification of local heroine Choi Min Jeong.

Choi, second in the final, was taken out of the competition because of an allegedly illegal action against Boutin. A few South Korean fans gave in to their anger about the decision at Instagram and Twitter and attacked Boutin. She then shut down her accounts. This is reported by the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

The Canadian Olympic Committee has launched an investigation, saying,”The health and safety of all our team members has the highest priority”.
