Olympia 2018: Tobogganing: Wendl/Arlt win gold again, Eggert/Benecken Bronze again

The Bavarian luge Olympic luge champions Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt beat their favourite rivals Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken at the winter games in Pyeongchang and won their second Olympic gold medal in the doubles.

The duo from the Berchtesgadener Land won after two rounds in the Alpensia Sliding Center ahead of the Austrians Peter Penz/Georg Fischler, the world champions Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken (Ilsenburg/Suhl) only bronze.

For Wendl/Arlt it is the third gold medal overall, they had won 2014 in Sochi in the double-seater and the team relay. So far this winter, they have clearly been in the shadow of the overall World Cup winners Eggert/Benecken.
