Handball: EHF-Cup: Foxes Berlin turn game at Lugi HF

Handball Bundesliga club Füchse Berlin averted a defeat with a strong final spurt on the second matchday of the EHF Cup group stage.

Eight days after the 21:26 against the French top club St. Guggenheim. Raphael had been trailing Lugi HF/Sweden last year’s finalist for a long time and only turned the game into a 32:27 victory in the last few minutes after a 12:16 gap.

In the group B table, the Berliners advanced to third place. Only the two group leaders reach the quarter-finals.

In Lund, Berliners lost the connection early on. After a 7-1 run, the Swedes already led 13-6 in the middle of the first half. Only after the switch did coach Velimir Petkovic’s team gain ground and took the lead for the first time since the opening minutes at 23:22 ten minutes before the end.

The foxes will join the third group game on 24. In February, Helvetia Anaitasuna from Spain took second place in the standings.
