The All-Star Game is open to all players in the active, 25-man squad of one of the 30 teams in the MLB at the time of the game. The remaining nine NL and eight AL players are determined by the All-Star managers in coordination with their manager colleagues and the commissioner’s office, resulting in 33 players in each squad. One criterion must be fulfilled: each of the 30 teams in the MLB must have at least one player.

The MLB All-Star Game 2019 will take place at the Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio, the home of the Cleveland Indians. No other All-Star venues have yet been announced. Decisions on this matter are expected in 2018.
