NBA: LeBron James criticizes President Trump:”Don’t care about people.”

LeBron James has once again positioned himself as a clear opponent of US President Donald Trump. This plays a decisive role in the re-ignited racism debate.

“No matter how far you’ve come, there are always people who want to make you feel that you’re among them,”James said in a conversation with ESPN, criticizing the still prevailing discriminatory attitude towards the black part of the population in parts of US society. Racist slogans at his front door would have made it clear to him,”that I still have a lot of work to do.”

James also takes a very critical view of the role of President Donald Trump in the racism debate. Trump is someone “who doesn’t understand people and doesn’t care about them.”

Last year James had already positioned himself as a clear opponent of Trump and supported the protest against the national anthem.

Kevin Durant also agreed with James:”What happens in our country has a lot to do with leadership. That’s what I learned from basketball, because that’s how you learn a lot about life. You have to encourage people and give them opportunities, that’s how great teams come into being. And I don’t think our team, our country, is led by a good coach.”
