Olympia 2018: Ski Freestyle: Huskowa wins gold for Belarus

Freestyle skier Hanna Huskowa surprisingly triumphed in the jumping competition at the Olympic Winter Games and won the first medal in Pyeongchang for Belarus.

The 25-year-old won the Aerials final with 96.14 points, ahead of the Chinese Zhang Xin (95.52) and Kong Fanyu (70.14).

Huskowa, second in the overall World Cup, won her first medal at a major event. On the other hand, top favourite Xu Mengtao failed in the second of three final rounds. The Chinese woman, second in Sochi four years ago and world champion of 2013, failed to land.

Alla Zuper, flag bearer of Belarus and Sochi winner, missed a medal in her sixth Olympics participation after a fall in fourth place. There was no German participant.
