WWE: German joins training at the WWE Performance Center

Nicolas Salchow signed a contract with WWE in December 2017. According to the association, the Dusseldorf-based rider has now started training at the WWE Performance Center. SPOX introduces the former MMA fighter.

Two and a half years ago, the now 34 year old Nick Salchow wanted to continue his career as an MMA fighter “I want to fight against the best of the best. I want to get into the best federation in the world, that’s the UFC,”he told GNP1 TV.

Born in Düsseldorf, he was on an orderly path in the middleweight. In May 2016, Salchow clinched his sixth victory in the sixth fight. Opponent Steve Montgomery was the third one that Salchow sent on the boards in the first round.

“Blanka”, was Salchow’s battle name in the MMA scene (inspired by a character from the video game series Street Fighter), finally lost his seventh fight in July 2016. He lost to Rex Harris after points and never again entered the Octagon.

One reason for this was Salchow’s participation in a tryout at the WWE Performance Center last June, in which he drew attention to the scouts.

Salchow’s new goal is the entry into sports entertainment. To do so, he must first prove himself in WWE’s own wrestling school. Wrestling is not only about athletics, but also about charisma and acting talent.

It may take a while before we can make our first appearance “It looks as if we have become successful overnight. But that doesn’t happen overnight,”said Swiss wrestling pro Cesaro in an interview with ProSieben Maxx,”I was wrestling for eleven years before I joined the WWE,”he added.

The conditions are right for Salchow. Unlike Tim Wiese, the 34-year-old has already shifted his life focus to the USA due to his MMA career and his newly founded family.

The Americans wanted me to come to the USA for three years,”said Wiese. That was not an option for me,”said the former Bundesliga keeper to Sport Bild.

Salchow’s enthusiasm for all kinds of martial arts is well known and much more pronounced than at Wiese. It was clear that the adventure of WWE did not remain under Blankas radar. He named the legends The Rock and Vader as role models for WWE. com.
