Choi Minjeong has presented South Korea with the second gold medal in the short-track at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang.

The seven-time World Champion won the final after a superior performance from Li Jinyu and Kim Boutin, who had already won bronze in the 500 m sprint. Prior to Choi Lim Hyojun had won 1500 m for South Korea in the men’s race.

Jorien ter Mors, gold medallist in 1000m speed skating, could not win another medal and finished fifth.

Anna Seidel failed in the semi-final after her second crash in the second race and was 16th. Her club colleague from Dresden, Bianca Walter, had previously retired in fifth place.
