Freestyler Alexander Abramenko won gold in the jumping competition at the Olympic Winter Games and won Ukraine’s first Pyeongchang medal.

Abramenko, overall World Cup winner 2015/16, won his country’s first medal in an Olympic freestyle competition at the Aerials final in Bokwang.

World champion Jonathan Lillis (USA) failed in the second final round. For Sochi Olympic champion Anton Kuschnir, the qualification had already ended surprisingly. His team mate Maxim Gustik, the 2015 World Cup third from 2015 and currently third in the World Cup, also retired. There was no German participant.
