Handball: DHB sticks to Prokop

The DHB is holding on to national coach Christian Prokop. This result of a detailed EM analysis was announced by the association following an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Board on Monday.

Prokop is thus allowed to prepare the national team for next year’s World Cup in Croatia, despite the disappointing ninth place in Croatia.

The decision per prokop was preceded by a week-long internal analysis of the association, in which the atmospheric disturbances between the coach and the team were discussed.

By continuing to work with the 39-year-old, DHB Vice President Bob Hanning remains in office, who made a further commitment dependent on the fate of Prokops.

Prokop took over the German team in March 2017 and has a contract with the DHB until 2022. In the 17 international matches under his direction so far there have been ten victories, three draws and four defeats. Of the six European Championship games, however, Germany won only two.
