MLB: Mets-GM:”Tim Tebow will play in the Major Leagues”

Sandy Alderson, General Manager of the New York Mets, seems to think a lot of ex-NFL quarterback Tim Tebow. At the edge of the training camp in Florida, he praised the outfielder and even offered him the prospect of jumping to the top.

“I think he’ll be playing in the Major Leagues,”Alderson said and went on to say,”That’s my guess. That’s my hope. And in a way, after a year and a half, it’s also a modest expectation.”

In the previous year, Alderson had still described Tebow’s commitment as a pure PR measure, thus confirming the suspicions of many observers that Tebow’s weak figures in the Minors had been undermined.

This year, Tebow will be taking part in the Mets’ Major League camp for the first time after signing his first Minor League contract 17 months ago. It is even suspected that Tebow could play for Double-A Binghampton at the beginning of the year, after having only played in Low and Advanced-A last season.

“As an athlete, you always want to be the best you can be. You want to play at the highest level, win a championship and be the best,”Tebow said to his ambitions.

In 2017, Tebow began the season for Single-A Columbus and then, despite weak performances, became Advanced-A St. Lucie promoted. Altogether he beat. 226 with 8 homeruns in 126 games.
