NFL: Chiefs commit former Raiders Cornerback David Amerson to NFL

Cornerback David Amerson remains in the AFC West: The Oakland Raiders’s dismissed Oakland Raiders quickly found a new team, the Kansas City Chiefs struck – and are continuing to build up their cornerback corps.

The Chiefs had already secured the first major trade this year when quarterback Alex Smith was handed over to the Washington Redskins – in return for a third-round draft kick, KC received Cornerback Kendall Fuller, who was to slip into the starting line-up after a strong pre-season at the Chiefs.

Although experienced Darrelle Revis was retired after a disappointing short-term engagement, the Cornerback Corps in Kansas City is now taking on increasingly promising forms with Fuller, Amerson and superstar Marcus Peters.

According to NFL network insider Ian Rapoport, Amerson is to receive a one-year contract with the Chiefs for up to six million dollars. The 26-year-old only played six matches in the pre-season due to injury and was never able to meet the raiders’ sporting expectations.
