NFL: Media: Jets at Cousins “ready at any price”

The big betting for Kirk Cousins is probably the most exciting storyline of the upcoming Free Agency. A team that seems to be at the forefront: The New York Jets! Get Gang Green to open his wallet wide for cousins.

NFL network insider Ian Rapoport and ESPN reporter Rich Chimini agree. So New York is willing to pay “any price” for cousins.

It is also said that Gang Green is preparing to outdo any of its competitors – including Denver, Arizona, Cleveland and Minnesota – financially. It should even be conceivable that Cousin’s contract in New York will be fully guaranteed; this would be an absolute novelty and would permanently change the market.

A surprising personnel decision of the jets fits to the reports: Despite the offensively unexpectedly good season, Gang Green had separated from offensive coordinator John Morton and replaced him by Jeremy Bates. This is said to have already happened with an eye on cousins: Bates’ system is said to resemble the familiar Redskins scheme.

Ultimately, there is no doubt that cousins will be the best paid player in the league, at least temporarily. It is still unclear, however, how much value he actually attaches to the financial aspect, having twice received the Franchise Day in Washington in the past two years. With the Minnesota Vikings he would probably have the best chance to play for the title immediately.
