Olympia 2018: Biathlon: Dahlmeier leads women’s relay team

Double Olympic champion Laura Dahlmeier leads the relay of German biathletes for the Olympic race on Thursday (20.15 hrs OZ/12.15 hrs CET). On Wednesday, the DSV announced that Franziska Preuß, Denise Herrmann and Franziska Hildebrand will still be on the cross-country skiing trail before the final runner. World champion Germany is the top favourite in the 4×6 km race.

“I’m hot and I’ll give it all. A medal would be great for the whole team,”said Dahlmeier. National coach Gerald Hönig said:”The bar is very high. That’s why we set ourselves the goal of winning the gold medal.”

Of the past eight relay races DSV-Quartetts won seven, only in the fog chaos of Oberhof the world champion had to admit defeat of France at the beginning of January. The French women are also likely to be the worst rival for the Olympic victory.
